Direction: Prepare one whole sheet of paper. DO NOT COPY THE QUESTIONS instead ANSWER IT and SHOW ALL YOUR SOLUTIONS in an orderly manner.

  1. 1. Jeson and Louie push their motorcycle from the road to their garage with a force of 7.8 x 105 dynes at a distance of 4200 cm. Solve for the work done by them in joules.
  2. 2. A man uses a rope to pull a wooden box across a floor with a force of 412 N and moves it at a distance of 24 ft. How much work (in ergs) is done if the rope is held at an angle of 45 degrees with the floor?
  3. 3. At what height (in feet) should a 50 kg refrigerator be lifted to have a potential energy of 3222 J?
  4. 4. A boy exerts a force of 30 N to move his toy car that is initially at rest to a speed of 4.5 m/s. If the acceleration of the toy car is 2.3 m/s2, how much power is used by the body during such time?
  5. 5. What is the power output of a vehicle in watts, kilowatts, horsepowers and ft-lb/s, if it produces a force of 8 300 000 dynes for 0.12 minutes to move through a distance of 550 ft?
